View Job Description $24.75•$30.21 per hour Paid holidays, vacation, sick leave Medical, dental and life insurance benefits CalPERS eligible Job Summary Under the direction of the Director of Nutrition Services, a Nutrition Services Supervisor oversees all daily operations of nutrition services at a school site(s) according to department standards and government mandates; supervises nutrition services staff at a school kitchen(s) to ensure duties are performed in a safe and efficient manner; ensures availability of quantities of items; completes forms, prepares reports, and communicates orally and in writing to convey information.
Requirements / Qualifications
A fully completed employment application is required. Candidates must also possess the following: Valid California Class C driver's license Current food safety manager certification (such as ServSafe's "Food Protection Manager Certification" or other certification deemed equivalent by the District). Certification must be submitted at the time of application. Two years of job-related experience with increasing levels of responsibility is required. Effective January 1, 2026, and in accordance with California Education Code Section 44051(a)(1), any applicant for a non-teaching position must disclose a complete list of every school district, county office of education, charter school, state special school and diagnostic center operated by the department of education, and private school that the applicant has previously been an employee of, including full-time, part-time, or substitute roles. Examination process:
Completed applications are reviewed and candidates who meet the minimum qualifications participate in an examination process. Exam components may consist of a Performance exam, weight 30%, and Qualifications Appraisal Interview, weight: 70%. The competitive basis for this recruitment is established as Open/Promotional-Dual Certification. Completed applications are reviewed and candidates who meet the minimum qualifications and submit a valid food safety manager certification will proceed to the examination process. Candidates who pass the examinations are placed on an eligibility list. The eligibility list is used to fill vacancies within the six-month eligibility period. Employment with San Dieguito Union High School District is contingent upon successful completion of post-offer background check, fingerprinting, physical exam including tuberculosis, drug and alcohol screening, and an Oath of Allegiance. The probationary period for a new or promotional employee is six months or 130 days of paid service, whichever is longer.
