Founded by Burt Rutan in 1982, Scaled Composites has been in the business of Designing, Building, and Flying unique airplanes (and occasionally spacecraft) for now over 40 years. We are a modestly sized company, constantly building small teams of empowered and capable employees to achieve extraordinary accomplishments in aerospace. From the farthest (Global Flyer), to the largest (Stratolaunch), to the highest (SpaceShipOne, Proteus), and many in between, Scaleds track record of innovation has pushed against and expanded some of the most stubborn corners of the flight envelope. We are looking for engineering students for our 2027 Summer Internships. As we are known for having an innovative, creative, and fun culture we like to see the personal projects that demonstrate your hands-on engineering and manufacturing capabilities. If you have a passion for aviation, solving challenging problems, and pushing the envelope of whats possible, Scaled is the place for you! Interns at Scaled will perform meaningful work that will directly contribute to the success of our company. Youll be mentored by some of the brightest minds in the industry and have opportunities to build connections that can last a lifetime. Our paid internship program will last between 10-12 weeks during the summer of 2027.We are accepting applications from now until October 16, 2026. Expect to hear back from us in early December once interview candidates have been selected.Note:
We're looking to learn about you from your application. We have no issues if you use outside sources to help you edit (friends, LLMs), but we really want the heart of the materials you provide to come directly from you. On our end, all applications are evaluated by human Scaled engineers once they've passed the basic requirements screen. Taking the effort to develop your application yourself comes through to us as signal - automated methods tend to look a lot like noise. Please help us cut through the noise.Required Qualifications:
