Entry Level Fiber Technicians Needed in Northern MI Company Vehicle Provided Heavy Overtime Join a fast‑growing fiber telecom team supporting a major FTTH build in Northern Michigan. Primary Responsibilities Install, troubleshoot, and maintain fiber optic systems to ensure peak performance. Perform precise splicing of coaxial cables across various types and sizes. Execute efficient splicing for aerial and underground installations, including span replacements, single-dwelling units (SDUs), small to medium-sized businesses (SMBs), and relocation projects. Identify and replace damaged or obsolete fiber optic infrastructure. Diagnose and resolve connectivity issues in fiber networks. Evaluate job sites to mitigate risks associated with faulty installations. Monitor and document signal strength for services such as television, internet, and telephone. Conduct live splicing on active devices with accuracy and minimal disruption. Maintain and update network documentation, including system layouts and design schematics. Educate customers on installed services and assist with the setup of personal equipment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Strong leaning ability Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, calmly, and assertively. Capable of making independent decisions and solving problems under pressure. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Mancelona, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
