Full-TimePosition SummaryThe CAD Designer / CAD Technician is responsible for preparing and modifying detailed technical drawings and plan sets to support civil engineering projects. This role works closely with engineers, project managers, and design staff to produce accurate construction documents for transportation, municipal, land development, and utility projects.

Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare, revise, and manage CAD drawings for civil engineering projects including roadway, site development, stormwater, water, and wastewater systemsDevelop plan sheets, profiles, cross-sections, and details in accordance with project standardsConvert sketches, redlines, survey data, and engineer markups into detailed construction drawingsCoordinate across disciplines to ensure drawings are accurate, complete, and consistentMaintain CAD files, drawings, and project documentation in accordance with company standardsAssist with layout calculations, quantity takeoffs, and basic design tasks as directedEnsure compliance with local, state, and federal design standards and client requirementsSupport project managers by meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality deliverablesRequired QualificationsAssociate degree or certification in CAD, Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)2+ years of CAD design or drafting experience in a civil engineering or infrastructure environmentProficiency in AutoCAD and/or AutoCAD Civil 3DStrong understanding of civil drafting standards and plan production workflowsAbility to read and interpret engineering plans, specifications, and survey dataStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsEffective communication skills and ability to work collaborativelyPreferred QualificationsExperience with transportation, municipal, or utility infrastructure projectsFamiliarity with Ohio DOT or municipal standardsExperience with surfaces, alignments, corridors, and pipe networks in Civil 3DKnowledge of electronic plan submission standards and document control practicesWork EnvironmentOffice-based position with occasional coordination with field or survey staffStandard work hours with potential overtime to meet project deadlinesCollaborative team-oriented environmentPhysical RequirementsAbility to sit and work at a computer for extended periodsAbility to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds
