GENERAL DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a Café Attendant to join our team on the Adirondack Railroad. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in food service to ensure our café operations run smoothly, providing exceptional experience for our customers while upholding the highest standards of quality and efficiency.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties/Responsibilities:

Oversee daily café operations, ensuring food and beverage items are prepared and served according to established guidelines Follow all relevant health department regulations and railroad safety rules Handle cash and credit card transactions using point-of-sale system Manage inventory levels, placing orders as necessary Maintain a clean environment, ensuring a positive guest experience

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

This is a seasonal, part-time, hourly-paid position, with work assignments that vary with train schedules, often in the evening and on weekends. On occasion, as may be required by special events, additional hours will be required. The job requires frequent interaction with the traveling public.

Required and Preferred Qualifications Required:

2+ years of experience in food service or hospitality Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices Ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds.

Preferred:

Experience in a fast-paced environment Familiarity with point-of-sale systems and inventory management

WORKING CONDITIONS

Working on moving passenger trains

Pay:

From $18.50 per hour
