Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Camp Coordinator & Lead Instructor to oversee the planning, organization, and execution of engaging summer camp activities. Seeking an organized, creative, and independent leader to manage and execute our daily summer camp program for a small group of 5-10 children ranging in ages 5-12. This is perfect for a teacher, substitute, or experienced childcare professional. You will be given our established weekly camp themes and will have dedicated, paid take-home hours each week to design the daily lesson plans. On-site, you will have total autonomy to run the day, lead the activities, and ensure a safe, high-energy environment for our campers. Key Responsibilities Lesson Planning & Activity Design (Paid Remote Time)
Curriculum Development:
Utilize 3 hours of weekly paid take-home time to build structured, engaging daily lesson plans based on the assigned weekly theme. Daily Camp Operations & Logistics (8:00 AM - 4:00 PM) But depends on how many are registered that week as hours/days can change week to week.
Schedule Management:
Independently maintain the daily routine (drop-off, icebreakers, active games, crafts, lunch, cleanup, and pick-up).
Parent Communication:
Act as the primary face of the camp; manage daily check-ins/check-outs and provide positive, professional updates to parents.
Safety & Compliance:
Maintain 100% visual and auditory supervision of all campers at all times. Ensure strict adherence to sign-out protocols.
Owner Reporting:
Keep the owner informed of supply needs, camper behavior, or operational updates.
Qualifications Experience:
2+ years of experience leading youth groups (e.g., classroom teaching, school substituting, camp counseling, or structured daycare).
Skills:
Proven ability to create lesson plans, structure a daily schedule, and manage a multi-age classroom independently.
Attributes:
A reliable, energetic self-starter who thrives in a solo-leadership role and can keep kids engaged without peer supervision.
Certifications:
Current CPR and First Aid certifications (or willingness to obtain them prior to the start of camp).
Pay:
$18.50 - $19.50 per hour
