Job Description

The Position Under the direction of the Director of Camps & Recreation, the Neyati Camp Director is responsible for the safe operation and utilization of all camp facilities. This role must prioritize support of user-groups occupying Camp Neyati. This individual must maintain high personal standards, adhere to, and carry out the mission of the Greater Midland. Major Job Responsibilities Oversee all on-site operations of Camp Neyati. Direct supervision and scheduling of Waterfront Director. Provide exceptional customer service to all user-groups. Ensure a safe and appealing environment through the daily maintenance of facilities and grounds. Control expenses within specified budget ensuring appropriate facility purchases and inventory for camp season. Engage in intentional planning pre-season to provide new and innovative experiences for user-groups. Close collaboration with Camp Caretaker to support overall user-group experience and facility needs. Maintains daily coordination with user-groups. Engage in pre-camp communication and answer camp related inquiries from user-groups. Maintain close communication with Greater Midland Director of Camps and Recreation. Maintain close communication with Greater Midland Rental & Community Event Specialist. Enforce Greater Midland policies and procedures. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree preferred (Recreation, Camp Administration, Education, Social Work, Family Studies, or related field). Leadership/Management experience. Experience working with children preferred.
Excellent people skills:
ability to work with a wide variety of personalities. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Current Certifications in First Aid, CPR, AED required (or ability to become certified upon hire). Current Lifeguard Certification preferred.
Minimum Age:
21 years. Prior camp/resident camp experience preferred. •Ability to reside onsite for camp season (housing provided). Physical Requirements Ability to perform all job duties in various weather conditions. Ability to reside in camp setting and carry out non-traditional schedule. Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully and work cooperatively with all camp User-Groups. Physical ability to respond appropriately to all situations requiring water rescue and first aid. Ability to safely carry/load waterfront equipment up to 50 lbs.
