$500 Full-Season Bonus for full-season contract! Camp Onas - Camp Nurse, 2026 Live on-site
Pay:
$1500/week for RN, $1400/week for LPN, $1300/week for GN $500 Full-Season Bonus for full-season contract Summary This is an overnight position with one day off per week. Indoor room with a private bathroom. The Camp Nurse is an active part of the camp experience and well-respected by the staff, campers, and the Directors. The supervising Director is an experienced nurse available for direction and support throughout the summer. This is a great role for someone who would enjoy spending the summer doing nursing work that feels personal, practical, and connected to a community. At Camp Onas, our nurse is a part of daily camp life and a respected member of our overnight summer camp staff. Job Description 1. Provide routine health care services for campers and staff including: Services around medications: intake, dispensing, and check-out of medications, assessment and treatment of illness/minor injuries, and community health reminders. 2. Assist arranging and transporting sick or injured campers/staff to appropriate treatment facilities (Physician's office, Urgent Care, or Hospital ED). 3. Communicate with parents, staff, and Directors regarding the condition of sick or injured campers and staff. 4. Supervise health care assistants and first aiders. Participate in and organize a schedule for overnight staff, (when a camper stays in for the night.) 5. Create and maintain accurate Infirmary records. Responsibilities Include Dispensing medication before meals and bedtime (approx 10-20 at Breakfast and Bed, and a few at lunch and dinner). Assessment and treatment of injured/sick at set Infirmary times and PRN (Campers and staff are to come for routine concerns before lunch and before dinner). Recording of treatment and medication distribution (e-charting and paper MAR) Supervising cleaning and maintenance of Health Care Facility rooms including bathrooms and kitchen area, and infirmary laundry. This may, at rare times, require the Nurse to help perform these functions. (We have junior staff who are assigned to help the Infirmary, that includes daily cleanings) Arranging meals for sick campers and staff (Staff is in charge of making it happen, we are in-charge of ensuring the person gets a meal). Communication with parents(via text, email, and phone). Assisting with ordering and stocking of healthcare-related supplies(Several times a summer we reorder supplies). Follow policies and practices of the Camp Onas Health Care Plan and Health Care. Procedures (available when interested). Job Requirements 1.
RN or LPN:
provide documentation of degree and licensure (GNs will be considered, particularly if there is a plan for licensure) 2. Certification in ARC First Aid and CPR 3. Current certificate for Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse. 3. If offered a position, you will be required to consent to the following screenings: A. A check of the National Sex Offender Public Registry. B. A voluntary disclosure statement to permit Camp Onas to perform the three background checks required of childcare workers in PA. (State, Federal, and PA child abuse clearance) Dates of employment for the 2026 summer: June 22-August 15th •Optional training week•Wilderness First Aid and ARC Lifeguard Training is offered the week before the season begins (6/15-6/19) if desired. In years past we've hired one Nurse, but we are open to hiring two new-to-practice nurses. Friends are encouraged to apply together.
