  • August 12, 2026 — 7 weeks) About the Client An ACA-accredited traditional all-girls residential camp set on a scenic lakefront in the Pocono Mountains.
This is a small, close-knit community where every camper and staff member is personally known—nursing professionals here are woven into the fabric of leadership and daily camp life, not stationed behind a clinic door. The program runs on genuine human connection, and the nurse is central to that.
Compensation & Benefits Base Salary:
$1,200
  • 1,400 per week, commensurate with experience
Relocation Assistance:

Fully residential, on-site for the complete duration of the season

Private bedroom with full room and board included; complete access to lakefront and camp facilities during off-hours in a warm, community-oriented residential setting Job Summary A residential nursing role that extends well beyond clinical walls. At this relationship-centered camp, the nurse functions as a visible mentor and trusted figure within the leadership community—delivering personalized healthcare, building genuine rapport with campers and staff, and contributing meaningfully to the safety, warmth, and cohesion of the whole camp environment from opening day through closing. Key Responsibilities Lead daily Health Call and respond to camper and staff health needs throughout the day as they arise Administer daily medications safely and maintain a well-organized, fully stocked pharmacy and medical supply inventory Coordinate off-site medical appointments and urgent care visits as situations require throughout the season Prepare and replenish first aid kits across all activity areas including field sports, the climbing tower, and the lakefront Partner with counseling staff to plan and supply medical needs for off-site camp trips and excursions Promote healthy habits among campers through age-appropriate, approachable health education woven into daily camp life Work alongside Camp Directors to uphold safety and health standards across all areas of the property Communicate with parents and guardians regarding health concerns with professionalism, warmth, and clarity Keep medical records, medication logs, and all required documentation accurate and current throughout the season Participate actively in camp-wide programming and community traditions as a visible, trusted, and approachable presence Minimum Requirements Valid, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing This position serves an all-girls residential camp in which the nurse provides direct, personal healthcare—including physical assessments and privacy-sensitive clinical care—to minor female campers in a 24-hour residential environment. Being female is a bona fide occupational qualification (BFOQ) for this role, consistent with Title VII of the Civil Rights Act Current CPR and First Aid certification Strong organizational capability; able to manage clinic operations, medications, and daily scheduling with independence Excellent interpersonal communication across campers, staff, and families Positive, adaptable, and composed in a fast-moving residential camp environment Ideal Qualifications Clinical background in pediatrics, school nursing, or a prior camp or community health setting Genuine enthusiasm for the outdoors and the culture of residential youth programming Natural ability to build trust with young people and contribute to a small, tight-knit community Comfortable stepping into a visible leadership role that extends well beyond the health center Elevate Your Career Apply for this Camp Nurse (RN) position and let Rio Staffing represent you to our network of esteemed healthcare clients.
