Job Description

Position Summary:
This position involves assisting in planning and running camp programming along with childcare duties.Essential Responsibilities:
Prepare information and activities for camp programming as assigned. Light housekeeping duties as assigned. Take care of assigned children when needed. Participate in camp staff orientation as assigned. Participate in all staff meetings. Regular attendance at work is an essential function of the position. Assist in creating a Christian atmosphere and support the infusion of Christian Outreach through the programming. Other similar and related duties may be assigned.Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or GED equivalency (preferred). Must be at least 17 years old. Six months of experience working with youth and active participation in a Christian faith community in support of The Salvation Army's mission preferred. On the job training provided.Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
Basic computer skills Willingness to learn new software as needed. Sufficient English proficiency to communicate with supervisors, co-workers, clients, and customers. Ability to read and comprehend basic instructions and short written materials, write basic correspondence, and clearly communicate information in one-on-one and small-group situations. Must be able to maintain a professional demeanor at all times and uphold the Christian standards and ministries of The Salvation Army in all areas of job responsibilities. Must have basic math skills, including the ability to work with U.S. currency and standard measurements (weight, volume, and distance). Ability to follow instructions and handle basic problems in routine situations.Certificates and Licenses:
Complete Safe From Harm training, and keep current as needed Current First Aid, CPR and AED, or ability to obtain within 45 days.Requirements:
