Job Description

Position:
Reserve Medical Officer -
Camp Phillips Overview:
Camp Phillips is a 1,400 acre Scout camp that serves boys and girls in grades 1-12 located in rural Rice Lake, WI. Camp Phillips provides world-class facilities and experiences for youth in many areas including aquatics, boating, crafts, nature, outdoor skills, ropes course and shooting sports. Campers and staff members come from across the Midwest to attend Camp Phillips' summer programs.
Position Summary:
The Reserve Medical Officer works with our Medical Officer to provide 24 hour medical care to our staff and participants while our camp is in session. Medical care includes making patient assessments, providing care as outlined in our camp's medical procedures, documentation, and referring other facilities for further treatment as needed. In addition to medical responsibilities, the Medical Officer is responsible for support and logistics duties as needed. At least one member of our medical team must be on property, making their location known at all times, 24/7 during our summer season.
Job Description:
Dates of employment are June 8 through August 8th, 2024.
The Medical Officer dutites:
  • Provide medical treatment as outlined in our camp's Standing Medical Orders and Procedures
  • Assist in medical screening during camper arrivals
  • Maintain medical equipment and supplies
  • Document care provided in medical logs
  • Report any serious medical incidents or health concerns to Camp Director
  • Complete other duties as assigned by Camp Director, including camp support and logistics tasks.
Job Qualifications:
Reserve Medical Officers must be EMT, Paramedic, LPN, RN, MD or a First Responder Licensed in the State of Wisconsin. Candidates must be 18 years of age or older, and be eligible for membership in the Scouting America. Hirees will be required to take additional training in youth safety and awareness prior to starting. The nature of the position requires a responsibility to respond during emergency medical situations, as well as standing, and lifting up to 75 lbs.
