Job Description

The Cultivation Technician provides daily care of cannabis plants from planting to harvest, and from harvest to drying and processing for packaging. Under the direct supervision of the Lead Grower, the Cultivation Technician will provide quality care and attention to the growing process of the plants from clone to harvest which includes pruning, trimming, watering, and providing nutrients. The Cultivation Technician will assist with harvesting the plants and processing the plants through the hanging/drying and curing of the plants. Detailed record keeping and strict adherence to the company's operating procedures and compliance with the state regulations is essential for this position.
Essential Duties Core Plant Care & Maintenance:
Execute daily plant maintenance: This includes precise watering, strategic pruning, meticulous trimming, and thorough plant inspections to ensure optimal health. Implement nutrient and fertilization programs : Administer nutrients and fertilizers according to the Lead Grower's established cultivation protocols. Proactively identify and address plant health issues: Diligently monitor plants for signs of disease, pests, or other problems, and implement appropriate treatments. Participate in harvest and post-harvest activities: Assist with de-leafing, harvesting, hanging, curing, and drying cannabis plants according to established procedures.
Facility and Compliance:
Maintain a sterile and compliant grow environment: Perform rigorous cleaning and sanitization of the grow facility and equipment, and ensure waste disposal aligns with strict regulatory guidelines. Accurately document and track cultivation data: Record detailed information at each stage of the cultivation process, ensuring data integrity.
Ensure regulatory compliance in record-keeping:
Maintain accurate and clear records in accordance with state regulations and company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Collaboration and Development:
Follow the Lead Grower's instructions meticulously: Execute tasks as directed by the Lead Grower to ensure consistent cultivation practices. Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning: Actively seek to expand knowledge of best practices in cannabis cultivation, horticulture, agriculture, and greenhouse operations.
Perform additional duties as assigned:
Adapt to evolving needs and contribute to the overall success of the cultivation operation. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent required; a Bachelor's degree in plant science, horticulture, agriculture, or a related field is preferred, but not mandatory. A strong interest in cultivation or agriculture, coupled with a genuine desire to learn about growing and harvesting high-quality cannabis. Demonstrated high integrity, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to meticulous attention to detail, particularly in record-keeping. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a diverse, multicultural, and multigenerational team environment. Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to all regulatory requirements and company policies. Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English. A proactive attitude towards continuous learning and professional development, with a willingness to enhance cultivation skills and knowledge. Willingness to participate in and benefit from comprehensive, company-provided training. Physical Demands and Work Environment The Cultivation Technician position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching all day. The physical requirements described below are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential responsibilities and duties of this job. Regularly required to do the following activities: Extensive walking throughout the expansive greenhouse environment. Standing for long periods without a break. Ability to lift 30 to 40 pounds and carry a distance of one hundred feet. Use hands to finger, handle, and/or feel; the ability to type, pick, pinch with fingers, seize, hold, grasp, or turn with hands and perceive attributes of objects and materials such as size, shape, temperature, or texture, by touching with fingertips Maintain balance while walking, standing, or crouching. Twist upper torso.
