Program Specialist 84 Main Street, Delhi, NY 13753 From $17 an hour - Full-time From $17 an hour - Full-time Friends of Recovery of Delaware and Otsego Counties, Inc. is accepting applications for a Program Specialist for our Delhi office. The Program Specialist is responsible for the overall coordination of programming for our members at The Turning Point Recovery Community and Outreach Center. This is a full time position that reports to the Program Manager and includes paid benefits.
The Program Specialist will:
Facilitate a plan of recovery-based groups, seminars, and activities, including recreation, which is coordinated by the Advisory Committee. Develop and distribute marketing of groups, workshops, activities and special events using social media, brochures, flyers and outreach to various stakeholders in the community. Prepare and update monthly calendar of events. Develop and maintain the RCOC Advisory Committee, maintain minutes of each meeting, and present to ED for review. Develop a survey and distribution plan for community providers to input ideas and requests for services that the center could provide. General tasks as a FOR-DO Employee include: Maintain a climate which attracts, keeps and motivates "members," staff, interns and volunteers. Seek to collaborate in every interaction with community providers and the self-help community. First person arriving for the business day opens the center, checks voicemail, and ensures building is clean and ready for operation. Answer phones on a rotation schedule and as a backup when needed. Welcome guests and "members," maintaining the daily sign-in sheets on a rotation schedule and as backup when needed. Document daily activities and services provided. Last person to leave for the business day locks all offices, files and doors. As assigned, open the center in advance of special events and/or scheduled meetings. Function as facilities contact between the groups and individuals using the facilities, reporting any incidents/problems to the Executive Director. Serve as Recovery Peer Advocates in a variety of capacities. Conduct intake of new "members." Provide transportation to "members" as needed. Provide information and referral to "members," service providers, and the community at large as requested. Adhere to the approved budget, inventorying, and management of supplies. Attend community meetings/events representing Turning Point as assigned. Attend trainings as assigned. Ensure that all TP policies and procedures are observed. Provide Peer Support Services as needed. Required Qualifications A demonstrated ability to interact well with people from all walks of life and backgrounds, fostering cooperation and teamwork when collaborating with diverse populations. A commitment to support the mission of the organization and recovery centers, and a desire to work with the recovery community. Minimum education of high school diploma or GED. Organized, able to multitask and have good communication skills. Excellent people skills that build rapport and put others at ease. Knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Flexible availability is essential. Must be able to work some evening and weekend hours. Valid NYS Driver's License. Preferred Associate's Degree At least one year experience working in human services Experience managing a program budget Experience in marketing
