Job Title:
Care Center Hospice Aide Shift Times:
7:00 AM - 7:30 PM 2 PT openings (24 hours weekly) 1 FT opening (36 hours weekly) 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM ( $2 shift diff increase for nights ) 1 PT opening (24 hours weekly) 1 FT openings (36 hours weekly) Working every third weekend and 4 holidays. $1000 Sign on bonus for full time, $500 Sign on bonus for part time and $250 sign on bonus for contingent new hires.

Care Center Reports to: Director of Angela Hospice at Lourdes The Angela Hospice Care Center at Lourdes is a 15 bed inpatient hospice unit at the Lourdes Senior Community in Waterford, MI. We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our care team. This role is ideal for individuals who are committed to providing high-quality, patient-centered care in an environment designed to support both residents and staff. Our facility prioritizes manageable workloads by maintaining lower-than-industry-standard patient-to-staff ratios , allowing CNAs to deliver more attentive, personalized care. We're looking for Care Center Hospice Aide's who shares this vision.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Performs personal care needs, as established in the plan of care, after receiving patient assignments and attends to his/her requests promptly Provides patient and family with positive communication techniques, within realm of ethical and respectful care, including confidentiality Meets safety needs of patient while using equipment safely and properly (foot stools, side rails, O2 etc.) Provides personal care including baths, back rubs, oral hygiene, and changing bed linen, in accordance with the patient's plan of care, as often as assigned Assists in dressing and undressing patients as assigned Assists in feeding the patient as assigned Takes and records oral, rectal and auxiliary temperatures, pulse, respiration and blood pressure when ordered Provides proper care and observation of patient's skin to prevent breakdown of tissue over bony prominence Assesses and reports on patient's condition and significant changes to the registered nurse, including interpersonal issues between the patient and caregiver/family Assists in ambulation and exercise as instructed by the registered nurse or therapist Provides normal range of motion and transfers/positions as directed Offers and assists with bedpans and urinals Provides assistance as assigned with light laundry needs Keeps patient's living area clean and orderly, as assigned Adheres to the organization's documentation and care procedures and standards of personal and professional conduct Respectful of patient and family/caregiver environment and patient's personal needs
Qualifications:
Current CNA certification in the State of Michigan At least 18 years of age Ability to read, follow written instructions, and document care given Understands hospice philosophy and is comfortable providing specialized care to the terminally ill Is self-directing with the ability to work with little direct supervision
