Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver for the Elderly to provide exceptional support and assistance to seniors in various care settings. In this vital role, you will help enhance the quality of life for residents by delivering personalized care, ensuring their safety, and promoting independence. Your positive attitude and attentive nature will make a meaningful difference in the lives of those you serve. This paid position offers an opportunity to develop your skills in senior care while making a genuine impact in the community. Responsibilities Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, to promote comfort and dignity Monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure residents' health stability Administer medications accurately following prescribed schedules and protocols, maintaining detailed records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems Provide specialized care for residents with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, employing memory care techniques and behavior management strategies Support residents during meal preparation, feeding, and hydration to meet nutritional needs Use assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts or transfer belts to ensure safe mobility and transfers Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties and adhering to infection control standards Document all care activities thoroughly and communicate effectively with healthcare teams, families, and other caregivers Drive residents when necessary for appointments or outings, ensuring safety at all times Support residents' emotional well-being through social interaction, companionship, and engaging activities Qualifications Prior experience in senior care, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care is highly preferred Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, dementia management, and behavior support techniques Certification or training in first aid and CPR required or obtainable upon hire Experience with medication administration and vital signs monitoring is advantageous Familiarity with EMR systems for documentation purposes Ability to work with individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities with patience and empathy Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and families Valid driver's license preferred for transportation duties Demonstrated commitment to providing compassionate, respectful, and person-centered care Join us in creating a warm, supportive environment where seniors feel valued and cared for. $14.00 - $15.00 per hour
