Carpenter (Seasonal - Children's Theatre Set Builder)
Organization Overview:
We are a children's theater company, based in Greenwich, CT, dedicated to creating high-quality, imaginative, and safe productions for young performers and audiences, seeking a creative and practical carpenter to help us bring our productions to life.Position Summary:
The carpenter will be responsible for constructing and overseeing the installation of stage sets and scenic elements for our upcoming summer production of Chicago in Scarsdale, NY. The carpenter will work closely with the directors on the design. This will involve constructing a multileveled platform and stairs that students will walk on. This role requires a balance of creativity, technical skill, and a strong focus on safety for our students. OAA does not have a shop so applicants must be able to work off site. This seasonal role offers an exciting chance to contribute creatively to children's theatre productions while honing your craft alongside passionate professionals. Collaborate with directors and production staff to conceptualize and design a set. Build, install and breakdown, set pieces at the theater. Ensure all scenic elements are structurally sound, stable, and safe for childrenQualifications:
Proven experience in carpentry, woodworking. Experience in set construction is a plus. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team Comfortable working on a deadline in a fast-paced production scheduleSchedule & Commitment:
Seasonal position with meetings starting as soon as possible with a production timeline of July 30 - Aug. 2, 2026. Flexible hours with required availability for install and breakdown at the theater on July 30, 31, Aug 2.To Apply:
