Job Description

Job Title:
Carpenter/Locksmith (Campus Facilities) Bethany College is seeking a full-time, experienced Carpenter/Locksmith to be responsible for supporting campus operations. Job Summary The Carpenter/Locksmith supports campus operations by maintaining, repairing, and installing building structures and hardware across college facilities. This role ensures classrooms, offices, and common areas are safe, functional and secure for students, faculty and staff.
Key Responsibilities Carpentry Duties:
  • Repair and maintain doors, frames, windows, cabinetry and furniture in academic, athletic, and residential buildings
  • Install and adjust doors, hinges, closers and related hardware
  • Perform minor construction, renovations, and space modifications
  • Read and follow blueprints, work orders, and campus maintenance plans
  • Ensure all work complies with institutional safety standards and building codes
Locksmith Duties:
  • Install, repair, and maintain mechanical locking systems across campus
  • Rekey locks and manage master key systems for departments
  • Cut and issue keys to authorized staff
  • Respond to campus lockouts (including dormitories and offices)
  • Maintain records of keys and locks Qualifications
  • Valid driver's license
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in carpentry, locksmithing or general building maintenance
  • Ability to push, pull, and lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to read blueprints and follow technical instructions
  • Strong problem-solving skills Work Environment
  • Work performed across campus buildings including classrooms, dorms, offices and athletic facilities
  • Combination of indoor and outdoor work
  • May require lifting, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces
  • Participation in on-call for emergency lockouts or repairs
