Job Description

Position Summary The Category Analyst plays a key role in supporting the Sales and Marketing teams at NuCal Foods and its affiliated companies. This individual collaborates cross-functionally with Sales, Customer Service, Operations, Accounting, and Regulatory teams to provide data-driven insights and support business growth. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, accurate, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously. This role requires leveraging both internal and external data sources, while also supporting packaging initiatives, regulatory compliance, and marketing development efforts. Key Responsibilities Support the sales team in establishing NuCal Foods as a recognized knowledge leader within the category. Maintain and analyze sales reports; proactively identify trends and opportunities for improvement. Develop ad hoc reports, dashboards, summaries, and visualizations, translating data into actionable insights. Record, manage, and ensure accuracy of pricing data. Work within multiple customer data portals to support reporting and insights. Support packaging initiatives, including coordination of packaging specifications, updates, and documentation. Assist with regulatory compliance efforts, including maintaining product information, label accuracy, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders. Contribute to marketing development projects, including product launches, promotional analysis, and customer-facing materials. Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to exceeding expectations. Communicate clearly and consistently with supervisors and cross-functional teams. Build and maintain strong working relationships across departments. Exhibit professionalism, accountability, and a collaborative mindset. Pursue continuous learning and skill development for both professional and personal growth. Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's degree or equivalent food industry experience preferred. 1-2 years of experience in an analytical or support role preferred but not required. Experience supporting regulatory, packaging, or marketing functions is a plus. Proven ability to analyze data and deliver actionable insights. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Self-starter with a service-oriented mindset; dependable, persistent, and results-driven. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft D365, Power BI, Excel; working knowledge of PowerPoint and Word. Ability to quickly learn new systems, customer portals, and tools. Physical Requirements Regularly required to sit, stand, and walk throughout the workday. Occasional use of hands for handling objects and operating equipment. May occasionally lift or move lightweight items. Requires close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
