Category Manager - Supply Chain Position Summary The Category Manager is responsible for developing, qualifying, and managing a robust supplier network to ensure reliable, cost-effective, and high-quality supply in alignment with JCL Energy's JCLES values: Journey Driven, Customer Obsessed, Leadership at all Levels, We Bring Energy, and Safety First Always . This role ensures supplier performance supports fast and accurate order fulfillment, while proactively mitigating supply chain risks and optimizing total cost of ownership. Key Responsibilities Supplier Development & Qualification Identify, evaluate, and qualify suppliers aligned with JCL Energy standards. Build and maintain a competitive, diverse, and resilient supplier base. Ensure more than 90% of spend is allocated to formally qualified suppliers. Lead supplier onboarding and continuous development initiatives. Supplier Performance Management Develop and implement supplier performance dashboards. Monitor and evaluate suppliers based on safety, quality, on-time delivery (OTD), and responsiveness. Drive continuous improvement plans with suppliers to consistently meet or exceed performance targets. Category Strategy Development Define and execute category strategies that ensure: Dual sourcing for critical materials and services Supplier diversification Mitigation of technical, geopolitical, commercial, and financial risks Continuously assess market conditions and adjust sourcing strategies accordingly. Contract & Risk Management Develop, negotiate, and implement contract agreements with suppliers. Ensure contracts include provisions to mitigate supply chain risks, including service levels, pricing mechanisms, and continuity plans. Maintain compliance with legal, commercial, and operational requirements. Inventory & Cost Optimization Define and implement inventory strategies by category to ensure service levels and cost efficiency. Optimize total cost of ownership, including product cost, transportation, warranty, administration, handling, and storage costs. Create and manage parts library for control and application of inventory management best practices, including ABC and XYZ analysis, and purchasing strategies based on demand, supplier lead-time and costs. Seeking two inventory turns for the top five categories while maintaining high service levels. Customer-Centric Execution Enable rapid response to Requests for Quotation (RFQs) and order acknowledgments. Ensure high service levels through reliable delivery performance and consistent product quality. Collaborate cross-functionally to support seamless and efficient order fulfillment. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Supplier On-Time Delivery (OTD): greater than 95%Supplier Quality Performance:
greater than 98% Supplier Responsiveness (RFQ and Order Acknowledgment): 85% less than 72 hours Spend withQualified Suppliers:

Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or equivalent work experience in related field Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or category management Strong negotiation, analytical, and supplier management skills Experience developing supplier performance dashboards and KPIs Knowledge of contract management, risk mitigation, and inventory optimizationSimilar remote jobs
