Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a motivated and dedicated CCMA (Certified Clinical Medical Assistant) in training to join our dynamic healthcare team. This paid internship position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced medical environment, supporting patient care across various specialties including dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, and outpatient clinics. As a CCMA (in training), you will assist healthcare providers with clinical tasks, patient interactions, and administrative duties, all while developing essential skills for a successful career in medical assisting. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about delivering exceptional patient service and eager to expand their medical knowledge within a supportive setting. Responsibilities Assist with patient intake processes by collecting medical histories and verifying insurance information Measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates Support clinical procedures including medication administration, wound care, and basic life support protocols Prepare examination rooms and sterilize medical instruments for patient visits Document patient information accurately in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and assist with ICD coding for billing purposes Support hospital medicine and outpatient clinics by coordinating patient flow and ensuring smooth clinic operations Aid in the collection of specimens for laboratory testing or X-ray imaging as needed Maintain cleanliness and organization of clinical areas to uphold safety standards Qualifications Currently enrolled in or completing a recognized Medical Assistant training program or equivalent coursework Basic understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and medical-surgical procedures Prior experience or familiarity with hospital or clinic environments is preferred but not required Knowledge of EHR systems and ICD coding is advantageous Ability to perform vital signs measurement accurately and support emergency medicine protocols such as Basic Life Support (BLS) Strong communication skills with a focus on patient service and compassionate care Willingness to learn about inpatient settings, Level I Trauma Centers, Level II Trauma Centers, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), Geriatrics, Internal Medicine, and other specialties such as dermatology or urgent care Join us to kick-start your healthcare career in an energetic environment that values growth, teamwork, and excellence.
