CDL Bulk Delivery Driver - Ellsworth, IA

Responsibilities Operates a class 8 bulk service vehicle and safely transports products in a timely manner, according to applicable state and federal transportation laws/regulations. Transport products to BVS customer locations daily with rare overnight travel. Interact with customers using kindness and a positive attitude while inquiring about their needs during product delivery. Load/unload products onto truck following safety guidelines. Acts as the face of BVS representing the company in a professional and ethical manner. Responsible for contents of vehicle, ensuring that everything is appropriately packed, strapped and is within the parameters of all DOT and FMCSA regulations (i.e., weight, HAZMAT). Comply with all BVS and customer biosecurity requirements. Perform all required safety checks (i.e., pre/post trip) including inspections of tractor/truck. and trailer according to DOT regulations and company safety standards reporting all safety issues and/or repairs required. Maintain signed invoices, shipping bills of lading, hazardous materials and other required paperwork; delivers documentation to appropriate staff when delivery route is complete. Work closely with Transportation Manager to facilitate routine service on trucks, which may include checking oil, water, gasoline, and air; report maintenance malfunctions to Transportation Manager. Responsible for proper procedures with electronic driver log system. Maintain positive relationships with all BVS employees, vendors, and customers. Assist the transportation team with other deliveries and transfers when not driving the bulk truck. Other duties assigned.

Expectations and Requirements:

You are expected to drive to support the needs of the business. Your pay is reflective of the days worked and miles driven during the week. This role has responsibilities with the following expectations. You must be available to work our core business week operating Monday-Friday. If you refuse to work a day without providing advance notice or submitting a time off request as outlined in the policy, that day will be without pay or CPM. Drivers are not eligible for the average miles page unless when using vacation PTO or the truck is out of service for more than 24 hours. Otherwise, will only be paid for actual miles driven. Understand that First and Last Pay Periods of active employment will be paid for actual days worked and miles driven. You must make sure that deliveries are made in a timely fashion. If you refuse to pick up/deliver a load on a day you are working, your CPM will be forfeited for that day. Special circumstances for refusing a load may be determined at the discretion and support of the Director of Transportation, Bobby McElyea. Examples include an unsafe condition or within accordance of DOT regulations or standards. Required to maintain a Class A driver's license and an acceptable driving record within BVS Background Check Policy. Required to maintain a commercial driver's license (CDL) to operate a CMV in interstate commerce. Required to maintain a current medical examiner's certificate. Must maintain the Hazmat endorsement on your CDL throughout employment with BVS. Required to follow all DOT/FMCSA/OSHA/USDA/FDA and EPA Regulations. Required to follow the policy that household pets and non-employee passengers are not allowed to ride along. Agree to follow the BVS Weapons and DOT Drugs and Alcohol policies. Required to keep interior and exterior of equipment clean on a daily basis. Drivers must remove trash from the truck kat the end of each shift. Conduct a thorough cleaning of the truck interior, including vacuuming seats and floor and clean windows weekly. Required to follow the BVS Fuel Card and Business Expense policies. At least 21 years or older with a High School Diploma or equivalent and 2+ years' experience or equivalent. The ability to pass a respirator medical evaluation and fit test upon hire and annually thereafter.

Ability to be on the road during scheduled routes, Monday-Friday with rare overnight travel as needed based on the needs of the business.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods sitting in a trailer cab for long periods of time. Varying working conditions from climate-controlled distribution center, to working outdoors in inclement weather conditions. Working with and around industrial hazards. Required to carry a cell phone and be available to respond during working and non-working hours. Physically capable of manual labor that includes lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and reaching. Move with coordination and dexterity. Ability to lift 50 lb. repeatedly.

Pay:

From $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
