Job Summary This position exists to process incoming and outgoing mail, correspondence, parcels, and document a wide variety of legal and financial transactions for both institution staff and the incarcerated population. This position provides lead work direction and technical assistance to other staff. All responsibilities must be performed according to established DOC policy and procedures and U.S. Postal regulations, with a major emphasis on security to ensure that no contraband or unauthorized mail or items enters or leaves the facility through the mail. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications The following qualifications are required of all applicants seeking consideration for this position. Only applicants whose application materials clearly demonstrate fulfillment of each of these minimum qualifications will be considered for the position. To ensure accurate evaluation, your resume must clearly describe your experience in the required areas. For each job, include whether it was full-time, part-time, or intermittent/on-call; how many hours per week you worked; and the month and year you started and ended. Math skills sufficient to perform basic math calculations such as correctly processing orders and United Parcel Service (UPS) shipments, determining proper mail postage, reconciling order statements, and preparing purchase requests. English language skills (written, oral, and ability to read) sufficient to communicate clearly and accurately while speaking or writing and sufficient to understand the variety of documents that are necessary to read. Typing/keyboarding skills sufficient to perform skilled typing tasks with speed and accuracy. Word processing skills (preferably Microsoft Word) sufficient to prepare documents and reports that are grammatically correct, in proper format, and free of spelling errors. Spreadsheet software skills (preferably Microsoft Excel) sufficient to enter data in, develop, and manipulate spreadsheets. Data entry skills sufficient to access and update DOC-specific databases and other computer systems to gather and report data. Systems include the Statewide Integrated Financial Tools (SWIFT- Fixed Assets, iTag, JPay, Boxi reports, Electronic Inter-office Requisition (EIORs), Outlook, and iShare, FedEx, Speedy and mailroom programs.
