About the Job General Summary of Position Athletic Trainers are highly qualified multi-skilled health care professionals who collaborate with physicians to provide preventative services emergency care clinical diagnosis therapeutic intervention and rehabilitation of injuries and medical conditions. The Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) II/Community Liaisons (CL) providededicated comprehensive sports medicine services to implement and coordinate efforts to educate members of the community to services offered by MedStar Sports Medicine. The

work with the entire MedStarbusiness development team to provide valuable feedback about the sports medicine needs of the community andthe perception of our current services to develop and execute marketing and referral plans Primary Duties and Responsibilities Demonstrates the ability to initiate referral process to successfully navigate outreach community through the MedStar National Rehabilitation Network (MNRN) system increase volumes (ie physician physical therapy) by utilizing marketing resources and MedStar Care Connect. Seek new business and growth opportunities for the MedStar Sports Medicine (MSM) brand (contracts schools teams clubs programs) in an effort to build the MSM profile. Solidify these opportunities with partnership agreements Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and contracts. Actively attend and represent MNRN at meetings and marketing opportunities. Serve as liaison between MNRN community organizations parents athletes outside physicians and physical therapists to enhance community relationships solidify program growth and provide high quality health care services. Advocate for safe participation in youth sports injury prevention and research projects. Develop distribute monitor effectiveness of educational programming for community organizations and partners (this could include educational series and seminars athletic development programs and screenings). As needed provides athletic medicine coverage of events that are affiliated programs with MedStar National Rehabilitation Network (MNRN). Examples include but are not limited to: camps tournaments health fairs educational classes affiliated contract coverage. Prevents recognizes evaluates and provides immediate care rehabilitation and reconditioning of athletic injuries/illnesses. Maintains accountability for individual administrative requirements of MNRN including but not limited to site specific schedules reporting and tracking and employee compliance. Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs in-service meetings workshops and independent learning experiences and other forums. Minimal Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training from an accredited college or university. required Master's degree preferred Experience 3-4 years experience practicing as a certified athletic trainer required 5-7 years experience preferred 1-2 years within Medstar national rehabilitation network (MNRN) preferred Licenses and Certifications Certified as an ATC by the National Athletic Trainers' Association Board of Certification(NATABOC) required Eligible for ATC license in Maryland and Virginia and eligible to practice in the District of Columbia. required CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (includes BLS and NRP) for healthcare providers from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within 90 Days required Additional unit/specialty certifications may vary by department or business unit. Knowledge Skills and Abilities Professional competency as outlined by NATABOC practice domains. This position has a hiring range of USD $61,838.00 - USD $111,259.00 /Yr.
