Certified Medical Assistant 1950 45th St, Munster, IN 46321 $17.50 - $20.00 an hour - Full-time $17.50 - $20.00 an hour - Full-time Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), where your skills will directly impact patient care and clinic efficiency. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional support in our pain center clinic as well as our fast paced outpatient surgery center. Your expertise in medical procedures, patient interaction, and administrative support will help ensure seamless patient experiences and smooth clinical operations. Duties Assist with patient intake by collecting medical histories, updating records, and verifying insurance information using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration to support accurate diagnosis and treatment plans Prepare patients for examinations or procedures, including X-ray positioning and basic medication administration under supervision Support physicians with clinical tasks like anatomy and physiology assessments, and medication documentation Manage patient flow efficiently by scheduling appointments, coordinating follow-ups, and providing excellent patient service Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment while adhering to safety protocols Knowledge of obtaining prior authorizations for medications, MRI's and surgical procedures is preferred but not required Requirements Certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program; prior experience in clinic and/or outpatient surgery center is strongly preferred Proficiency with EHR systems for documentation and surgery-based workflows is a plus Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and medication administration techniques Ability to perform intake assessments accurately while demonstrating excellent patient service skills in outpatient or inpatient environments Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; additional certifications related to emergency medicine or trauma centers are advantageous Familiarity with OR (Operating Room) procedures is a bonus Join us to be part of a dedicated team committed to delivering outstanding patient care across diverse medical specialties.
