Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) RHS Clinic - Idaho Falls, Idaho About Us For over 25 years, Rehabilitative Health Services (RHS) has proudly served the Southeastern Idaho community by providing comprehensive, integrated healthcare services. We offer a broad range of treatments, including specialized counseling, psychiatric care, medication management, community-based support, peer services, and family medical care. Position Overview We are seeking a motivated and professional Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical skills, excellent communication, and a commitment to high-quality patient care in a fast-paced medical environment. This position provides both direct and indirect patient care support while working collaboratively with medical providers, psychiatric providers, nursing staff, behavioral health teams, and administrative staff within an integrated healthcare environment. The CMA will assist with clinical procedures, patient intake, laboratory tasks, injections, electronic documentation, and coordination of patient care while maintaining professionalism, accuracy, and compassion.
Qualifications Candidates must:
Hold a current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification. Have a high school diploma or equivalent. Be at least 18 years of age. Hold a valid driver's license. Successfully pass a background check and fingerprinting process. Hold current CPR/BLS certification or be willing to obtain certification upon hire. Demonstrate strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills. Possess basic computer proficiency, including experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems, email, and Microsoft Office programs. Be able to work efficiently and professionally in a fast-paced clinical environment. Preferred Qualifications Previous CMA experience in integrated healthcare, family medicine, behavioral health, internal medicine, urgent care, or outpatient healthcare settings. Experience with CLIA-waived laboratory testing and specimen collection. Familiarity with PCMH (Patient-Centered Medical Home) workflows and integrated healthcare models. Experience completing prior authorizations, including CoverMyMeds. Knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration, and clinical documentation standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide high-quality patient care and excellent customer service. Obtain and document patient histories, vital signs, and other required clinical information. Perform clinical assessments including blood pressure, pulse, oxygen saturation, temperature, height, and weight. Conduct blood draws, specimen collection, injections, immunizations, and other delegated clinical procedures. Assist providers during examinations and treatments. Monitor, observe, and report changes in patient condition to medical staff. Accurately document patient information and clinical services within the electronic health record system. Assist with medication prior authorizations and pharmacy communication, including use of CoverMyMeds. Educate patients on medications, treatment plans, follow-up care, and provider instructions. Support patients safely with mobility needs, including walker and wheelchair assistance. Maintain cleanliness, organization, and proper stocking of exam rooms and clinical supplies. Follow infection control, safety, and confidentiality standards in accordance with HIPAA and agency policy. Collaborate effectively with providers, nursing staff, behavioral health teams, and administrative staff. Maintain required certifications and complete ongoing training and continuing education requirements. Demonstrate professionalism, compassion, accountability, and adaptability in daily interactions with patients and staff. Work Environment This position operates within a fast-paced outpatient medical clinic environment and may require: Standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the workday. Frequent interaction with patients experiencing medical, behavioral health, or emotional concerns. Multitasking and prioritization in a busy clinical setting. $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
