Certified Medical Assistant - PRN (70602) 8800_TPA_4211 Van Dyke Rd Ste 207 - Lutz, FL 33558 Apply Overview Position Type PRN Category Clinical Staff Apply Description Women's Care, founded in 1998, is a leading women's healthcare group in the United States, dedicated to providing the highest quality of care for women through their reproductive years and beyond. With 100+ locations and over 400 OB/GYNs and specialists across the country, Women's Care provides comprehensive patient care in obstetrics, gynecology, gynecologic oncology, urogynecology, gynecologic pathology, breast surgery, genetic counseling, maternal fetal medicine, laboratory services, and fertility. The Certified Medical Assistant provides professional clinical care for patients following established standards and practices. They prepare patients during office visits and assist patients and family members before, during and after a doctor's visit. This is a PRN position within our float pool and will require travel to clinics within the local region on an as-needed basis. Prepare patients for examination and assist providers during treatment/procedures, examinations, and testing of patients. Prepare, restock, and sterilize examination rooms, procedure rooms, lab area and all other patient care areas per established policies and procedures. Record patients' medical history, health maintenance, and chief complaint. Measure, record, and document vital signs. Where applicable, perform phlebotomy, injections and other specimen collection per established policies and procedures as directed by the provider. Educate patients by providing information and instructions as directed by the provider. Maintain safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations. Sterilize medical instruments per established standards and procedures. Relay messages from patients and front office staff to providers. Represent the office in a professional manner. Treat all customers, internal and external, in a courteous and cooperative manner. Participate in team activities and professional development activities. Attend required meetings. Demonstrate and embody the Women's Care mission and core values. Compliance with all HIPAA rules, regulations, and guidelines. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED. Must be a Certified Medical Assistant. Current CPR and/or BLS certification preferred OR the ability to obtain the certification within 30 days of employment via Women's Care training. At least one year of recent experience working in OBGYN is required. Working knowledge of medical terminology. Ability to perform phlebotomy and administer injections, if applicable. Ability to perform dosage calculations and measurement conversions. Must possess the ability to interact and communicate professionally and effectively with all levels of internal personnel, providers, personnel of outside organizations, and patients and their family members, both written and verbally. Must possess good organizational skills, handle multiple tasks concurrently, and be able to work effectively with all levels of aforementioned groups. Ability to use a computer and enter data in electronic medical records application, preferably eCW. Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Must be dependable, reliable, and punctual. Must be willing and able to travel to various clinics within the region. A minimum of two shifts per month is required.
