Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)

POSITION SUMMARY

The Certified Medical Assistant is involved in both direct and indirect patient care that includes setting up for and assisting Physicians and Nurse Practitioners, assisting with diagnostics testing, maintaining inventory of clinical supplies and ordering supplies.

QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma/GED. Completion of a Medical Assistant Program. 1 year of Medical Assistant experience or completion of a clinical externship program. Must hold current Certified Medical Assistant certification. Current CPR/BLS certification.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA compliance and basic clinical exam procedures. Experience using an Electronic Medical Records or Electronic Health Record Software. Must have great communication skills and computer skills. Responsibilities Provide medical administrative support, including managing patient intake and maintaining electronic health records (EHR) systems. Assist in patient care by taking vital signs and ensuring patient comfort. Utilize medical terminology to communicate effectively with healthcare professionals. Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and uphold BLS and CPR certifications. Collaborate with medical staff in various settings, including outpatient clinics and urgent care facilities.
