  • Full-time We are looking to add a medical assistant for our small, fast paced Family Practice.
We're looking for a motivated, positive and team-oriented person to join our current staff family. Responsibilities Helps patients by providing information, services, and assistance. Maintains medical supplies inventory and performing preventive maintenance to keep medical equipment operating. Verifies patient information by interviewing patient, recording medical history, and confirming purpose of visit. Prepares patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests; taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature; and reporting patient history summary. Saves doctors' time by helping with minor office procedures, pays attention to work details, patient prep, and schedule preferences unique to each provider, utilizes that knowledge to ensure a consistent work environment, and enhance patient flow as needed. Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records; completing diagnostic coding and procedure coding; and keeping patient information confidential. Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations. Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders, and verifying receipt. Administer vaccines, receive vaccine shipments and count/maintain inventory as needed. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading professional publications. Stay current on VFC practices, CDC guidelines and general vaccines knowledge. Serves and protects the practice by adhering to professional standards; facility policies and procedures; and federal, state, and local requirements. Enhances practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests,and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
VFC ELIGIBLE A MUST
Skills Answering phones, take messages, schedule patients Administer vaccines, knowledge of vaccines, VFC/CDC guidelines Prep patient rooms and patients for exams Knowledge of Practice Fusion and electronic charting Communication and problem solving skills Medical assistant certificate is a plus Reception experience is a plus Experience in the medical field is a must
