Certified Medical Assistant

Shades Valley Dermatology is a busy, multi-provider dermatology practice seeking resumes for a future full-time Medical Assistant position anticipated to begin in August 2026. We are not actively hiring at this time but are accepting applications in advance for upcoming staffing needs. This role will involve assisting providers with patient care in a fast-paced dermatology office setting at our Jasper and Vestavia Hills locations. Travel between offices is required.

Typical schedule:

Monday-Friday 7:00 AM or 8:00 AM-5:00 PM depending on clinic schedules Preferred qualifications: Previous dermatology experience strongly preferred Medical Assistant certification and/or clinical experience preferred Strong communication and customer service skills Experience with EMR systems preferred Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a team environment Responsibilities may include: Preparing patients for exams and procedures Assisting providers with biopsies, surgeries, and treatments Documenting visits in EMR Performing wound care and phlebotomy Managing referrals, prior authorizations, and scheduling Cleaning/stocking exam rooms and sterilizing equipment Educating patients and assisting with follow-up communication We are looking for dependable, professional candidates who thrive in a busy clinical environment and are passionate about patient care.
