The CNA plays a vital role in providing high-quality patient care across various settings, including hospitals, long-term care facilities, assisted living communities, and home health environments. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in patients' lives by supporting their physical, emotional, and psychological well-being. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a genuine commitment to patient-centered care. Responsibilities Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote comfort and independence. Monitor and record vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems. Support medical staff by preparing patients for examinations or procedures and assisting during treatments. Provide basic nursing care such as catheter care, wound dressing changes, and medication reminders under supervision. Maintain a safe environment by adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols. Document patient observations thoroughly and accurately in medical records while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Assist with patient transfers using equipment such as Hoyer lifts or wheelchairs to prevent injury. Support patients with specialized needs including dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, or behavioral health support. Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams across acute care, post-acute settings, or outpatient clinics. Educate patients and families on health management strategies and discharge instructions. Qualifications Current certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) from an accredited program; valid state licensure required. Prior experience working in diverse healthcare environments such as hospitals (including ICU, emergency medicine, Level I Trauma Centers), nursing homes, or home care is highly desirable. Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR systems) such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks. Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and basic life support (BLS). Experience with specialized care areas including hospice care, infectious disease management, pediatric or geriatric populations. Ability to perform phlebotomy procedures and assist with medication administration when trained. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work compassionately with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges. Demonstrated understanding of HIPAA compliance and confidentiality standards. Flexibility to work various shifts including nights or weekends as needed.
