Certified Nursing Assistant Winnebago, NE From $65,000 a year - Full-time From $65,000 a year - Full-time Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care across various settings, including hospitals, long-term care facilities, assisted living communities, and home care environments. This role requires a strong understanding of medical procedures, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to enhancing patient well-being. Experience with diverse patient populations, including geriatrics, pediatrics, and individuals with developmental disabilities or memory care needs, is highly valued. The CNA will work under the supervision of nursing staff to support patient safety, comfort, and recovery. Responsibilities Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary. Monitor and record vital signs accurately using EMR/EHR systems while adhering to HIPAA regulations. Support medication administration processes in accordance with facility protocols and ensure proper documentation. Provide specialized care for patients with conditions such as Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or behavioral health needs. Assist with medical procedures including catheter care, phlebotomy, and aseptic techniques during clinical tasks. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in acute care, ICU, emergency medicine, hospice care, and other specialized units like PICU or Level I Trauma Centers. Educate patients and families about health conditions and post-discharge care plans. Maintain a safe environment by following infection control protocols and safety guidelines for handling infectious diseases or working in sterile settings. Support patient mobility and comfort through proper use of assistive devices and techniques for fall prevention. Requirements Valid certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in accordance with state regulations. Prior experience in healthcare settings such as hospitals (including ICU or trauma centers), nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home & community care is preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic life support procedures. Experience working with diverse populations including seniors (geriatrics), children (pediatrics), individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges, and those requiring memory or behavioral health care. Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or eClinicalWorks is advantageous. Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting (Hoyer lift experience preferred), standing for extended periods, and assisting with patient transfers safely. Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with healthcare teams and provide empathetic patient care. Commitment to maintaining confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations and ensuring accurate medical documentation.
