Medical Laboratory Technician

Job Overview The MT/MLT will perform laboratory testing and provide technical laboratory support for the WCHS laboratory. This is a 7-on/7-off position working Wednesday through Tuesday during the scheduled work week. Shift hours are 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM , including every other weekend and holidays if they fall during the scheduled work week. Overtime is paid after 80 hours per pay period. This role requires the ability to work independently, especially during weekends and holidays, while effectively managing workflow, multitasking, adjusting priorities, and responding to emergency codes and trauma situations. Strong specimen collection and phlebotomy skills are essential. Certification is required for this position. Responsibilities Perform laboratory testing, analyses, and procedures to assist in disease prevention, diagnosis, and treatment. Process specimens and manage test accessioning/orders within the Laboratory Information System (LIS) . Operate, maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment. Maintain laboratory documentation, policies, and procedures according to regulatory standards. Adhere to infection control and sterilization protocols while handling infectious specimens. Perform analytical testing across all laboratory sections independently. Respond effectively to trauma cases, emergency codes, and changing priorities. Demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills. Assist with specimen referrals to reference laboratories.

Requirements:

Certification required through ASCP, AMT, or

NCA . MLT

Associate Degree in Medical Laboratory Science .

MT/MLS:

Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science . Ability to work independently is mandatory. Routine phlebotomy experience preferred. Less than 1 year experience accepted, 1+ year preferred.

Pay:

$1,900.00 - $2,000.00 per week
