Our COTAs work closely with Occupational Therapists while still having the flexibility of the field. You will manage your own territory, build strong relationships with patients, and focus on meaningful outcomes instead of rushing from room to room. As a COTA in home care, you will help patients improve strength, coordination, and daily living skills so they can remain safe and independent at home. You will follow treatment plans created by the Occupational Therapist and play an important role in helping patients reach their functional goals. Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant | COTA Responsibilities Provide occupational therapy treatments in patient homes under the direction of the OTR/L. Assist with activities of daily living, mobility, and safety training. Carry out individualized therapy plans. Educate patients on adaptive equipment and home safety. Document visits accurately in EMR. Communicate updates with supervising therapist. Work with nurses and other clinicians to coordinate care. Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant | COTA Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program. Active Minnesota COTA license. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Comfortable working independently in a home care setting. Strong interpersonal and patient communication skills.
