Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will work closely with licensed occupational therapists to deliver personalized therapy services that enhance patients' independence and quality of life. Whether in inpatient settings, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, or home health environments, you will play a key part in helping diverse patient populations—including geriatrics, pediatrics, and individuals recovering from acute care episodes—achieve their rehabilitation goals. Your expertise in assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), developing care plans, and applying physiology and anatomy knowledge will ensure optimal patient outcomes. Responsibilities Assist licensed occupational therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans for patients across various settings such as inpatient units, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, and home health environments Support patients in performing activities of daily living (ADLs), including dressing, grooming, and mobility exercises to promote independence Contribute to the development and modification of care plans based on patient progress and feedback Monitor patient responses during therapy sessions and document observations accurately in medical records Educate patients and their families on therapeutic exercises, safety techniques, and adaptive equipment usage Maintain a safe and clean treatment environment by following infection control protocols and safety guidelines Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care that addresses medical imaging results, physiology considerations, and medical terminology understanding Qualifications Valid certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) from an accredited program Prior experience working in inpatient settings or skilled nursing facilities preferred; clinic or outpatient experience is also valuable Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and occupational health principles necessary for effective patient care Experience assisting with ADLs across diverse populations including geriatrics and pediatrics Familiarity with home health environments and acute care settings is a plus Strong communication skills to educate patients and coordinate with healthcare teams effectively Ability to work independently while maintaining attention to detail and adhering to safety standards Join us in delivering exceptional occupational therapy services that empower patients to regain independence and improve their overall well-being. $32.21 - $38.79 per hour
