Requirements:
- Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) from an accredited program.
- Valid state licensure or registration as required by local regulations.
- Experience working in diverse settings such as skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics, inpatient units, or home health environments.
- Strong knowledge of occupational health principles, medical terminology, physiology, and anatomy relevant to patient care.
- Familiarity with care plans tailored for geriatrics, pediatrics, and general adult populations.
- Skills to assist with ADLs across various patient needs and mobility levels.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients and collaborate with healthcare teams.
Job Duties:
- Assist licensed occupational therapists in developing and implementing personalized care plans focused on improving activities of daily living (ADLs) and functional mobility.
- Provide hands-on therapy interventions to patients in various settings, including inpatient units, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, and home health visits.
- Support patients in performing ADLs such as dressing, grooming, feeding, and toileting to promote independence.
- Document patient progress accurately and timely in compliance with healthcare regulations and facility policies.
- Educate patients and their families on therapeutic exercises and strategies to enhance safety and functional outcomes at home or in the community.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure cohesive patient care that addresses medical imaging results, physiology considerations, and anatomy knowledge.
- Maintain a safe environment by adhering to infection control protocols and safety standards during all patient interactions.
- Other duties as required.
Expected Hours:
20 - 40 per week.Pay:
