GED Full Job Description Certified Peer Support Specialist Amatus Health Hours:
3pm-1130pm, includes weekends Position Overview Amatus Health is seeking a compassionate and motivated Certified Peer Support Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will use your lived experience in recovery to provide encouragement, guidance, and support to individuals navigating substance use and mental health challenges. You will serve as a bridge between clients and the clinical team, helping foster a safe, structured, and recovery-focused environment. This is more than a job—it's an opportunity to make a meaningful impact while growing a career in behavioral health. Key Responsibilities Provide peer support and mentorship to clients throughout their recovery journey Build trusting, respectful relationships that promote engagement and accountability Assist with client admissions, orientations, and program integration Help clients understand program expectations, schedules, and resources Support clients in developing coping skills and recovery strategies Observe and report any changes in clients' physical or mental condition to clinical staff Assist in de-escalation and crisis intervention when needed Facilitate or co-facilitate peer-led groups and recovery-focused activities Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including shift notes and incident reports Monitor client safety, including routine checks and awareness of client whereabouts Assist with transportation needs and off-site appointments as required Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment Participate in team meetings, trainings, and ongoing professional development Uphold strict confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and organizational policies Qualifications Certified Peer Support Specialist (or Peer Recovery Coach) certification required High school diploma or GED required Lived experience in recovery with a strong commitment to helping others Minimum of 1 year of experience in behavioral health or related field preferred Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to maintain professional boundaries and ethical standards Reliable, team-oriented, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment Benefits Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance 401(k) with company match Paid Time Off (PTO) Opportunities for growth and advancement Supportive, mission-driven work environment About Amatus Health Amatus Health is a national leader in behavioral health, providing high-quality care for individuals struggling with substance use and co-occurring disorders.
