Job Description

Responsibilities:
  • Assist pharmacists in dispensing medications and providing patient care
  • Prepare and package prescription orders accurately and efficiently
  • Maintain inventory and stock medications in the pharmacy
  • Enter prescription information into the computer system
  • Answer phone calls and address customer inquiries
  • Provide excellent customer service and ensure patient satisfaction
  • Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment
Experience:
  • Experience with Framework LTC is preferred
  • Experience with Parata or TCGRx is preferred
  • Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician is required
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and pharmacy operations is a plus
  • Knowledge of different medication administration routes (oral, topical, inhalation, IV infusion)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in medication preparation
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team
Skills:
  • Patient service: Provide friendly and helpful assistance to patients, addressing their needs and concerns.
  • Long Term care: Familiarity with working with Assisted Living facilities and personal care homes.
  • Medical terminology: Understanding of medical terms used in pharmacy practice.
  • Patient care: Ability to provide compassionate care to patients while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Medication administration: Knowledge of different routes of medication administration.
Pharmacy:
Understanding of pharmacy operations, including prescription processing and inventory management.
