Certified Phlebotomy Tech

  • $71,932 United States, California, San Diego May 15, 2026 DESCRIPTION Under direct and constant supervision, performs specimen processing, accessioning, phlebotomy, heel and finger sticks, customer service, clerical duties, effective communication with laboratory customers, problem resolution, record keeping, supply inventory and maintenance, as well as cleaning and maintaining a safe work environment.
Additional duties will include the operation of instruments, preventative maintenance as appropriate to each section/department assigned. Performs all duties in a manner consistent with current laboratory safety standards. (See general non-technical section for details). JDC. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT). Proven knowledge of Hospital Isolation, Infection Control protocols, patient comfort/safety, and medical terminology. Demonstrated knowledge of laboratory regulations, laws, and ethical requirements. Possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the position. Demonstrated skills/knowledge in basic collection and specimen preparation, storage, and disposal of the specimen.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Two (2) years of hospital experience. BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date. One to two (1
  • 2) years of experience with hospital automation.
Proven experience with specimen processing. Demonstrated experience working in a high-volume lab.

Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range:
$71,932
  • $71,932 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)
