PALFINGER
as Certified Welding Inspector (WI). This individual plays a critical role in ensuring weld quality, compliance, and safety throughout the manufacturing process. Along with, being responsible for inspecting welds, processes, and equipment to ensure products meet engineering, customer, and regulatory requirements. Working closely with the Quality Manager, Welding Engineer, and production teams, the CWI supports consistent, high‑quality manufacturing outcomes. This role is based at PALFINGER's manufacturing facility in Council Bluffs, Iowa and supports products from raw material receipt through final shipment. Your Responsibilities Inspect welds and weldments during production to ensure compliance with AWS codes, engineering specifications, and quality standards. Conduct incoming inspections and perform destructive and nondestructive testing on critical welded components. Develop, maintain, and audit welding documentation including WPSs, PQRs, inspection records, and qualification reports. Lead weld training, qualification, and certification activities for new and existing welders. Initiate, manage, and monitor non‑conformance reports (NCRs) and support weld repair activities to resolution. Your Qualifications Active American Welding Society (AWS) Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical prints, and AWS/ISO weld symbols. Strong knowledge of welding codes, specifications, measurement tools, and inspection techniques. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work across production and quality teams. High attention to detail with strong organizational and time‑management skills.
