Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nursing Supervisor to oversee nursing staff and ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care. The ideal candidate will possess a strong clinical background, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to manage a diverse team in a fast-paced healthcare environment. This role is critical in maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations and promoting best practices in patient care. Responsibilities Supervise nursing staff, providing guidance and support to ensure optimal patient care. Conduct regular assessments of patient care practices and outcomes. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans. Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and NCQA standards. Manage staffing schedules, ensuring adequate coverage for all shifts. Participate in the hiring, training, and evaluation of nursing personnel. Oversee medical documentation and maintain accurate patient records. Facilitate communication between patients, families, and healthcare providers. Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary. Engage in utilization review and case management activities. Skills The successful Nursing Supervisor will demonstrate proficiency in the following areas: Epic EMR systems Critical care experience Medical office experience Long-term care experience Assisted living knowledge Dialysis procedures IV infusion techniques Nursing home experience Hospital experience (including Level I & II Trauma Centers) Team management skills Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities Senior care expertise ICD coding (ICD-9 & ICD-10) Acute care knowledge (including
ICU & PICU
) Hospital medicine and emergency medicine experience Utilization management skills Geriatrics knowledge Behavioral health experience Case management capabilities Medical-surgical nursing proficiency Home care expertise Additional skills that are advantageous include: Catheterization techniques Basic life support certification IV insertion abilities Supervising experience Patient assessment skills Medical terminology knowledge Vital signs monitoring Medication administration expertise Infection control practices Candidates should also possess strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing compassionate patient care.
