Job Description
Position Overview Is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, and highly organized Charge Poster / Medical Biller to join our medical billing team. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of medical billing processes, charge entry, insurance guidelines, coding review, and claims management within a fast-paced healthcare environment. This position plays a critical role in the revenue cycle process by ensuring accurate and timely charge posting, claim review, and coordination between providers, clinical staff, and the billing department to support proper reimbursement and billing compliance. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Accurately enter and review medical charges, procedures, diagnostic testing, injections, and office visits into the practice management system Review patient encounters and documentation to ensure completeness and billing accuracy Verify
CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS
codes, modifiers, and insurance information prior to claim submission Identify and correct billing discrepancies, claim edits, and missing information Work closely with providers, technicians, front office staff, and the billing department regarding documentation and coding issues Ensure timely charge entry to support efficient claims processing and reimbursement Assist with corrected claims, denials, rejections, and billing follow-up as needed Maintain productivity standards while ensuring a high level of accuracy and attention to detail Comply with HIPAA regulations and maintain strict patient confidentiality Perform additional revenue cycle and billing-related duties as assigned Qualifications Minimum of 2-3 years of medical billing, charge posting, or revenue cycle experience required Strong understanding of medical terminology, CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS coding, and modifier usage Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance billing guidelines Experience reviewing and processing medical claims in a high-volume healthcare environment Strong computer, data entry, and organizational skills Ability to prioritize tasks, multitask efficiently, and meet deadlines Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities Experience with electronic health records (EHR) and practice management systems preferred Ophthalmology billing experience preferred but not required Preferred Qualifications Experience with charge entry for surgical procedures, diagnostic testing, and specialty medical services Familiarity with claim scrubbing, denial management, and payer requirements Ability to work independently while contributing positively within a team environment Benefits Competitive compensation based on experience Paid time off Health and benefit options Application Question(s): Please describe your medical billing and charge posting experience, including the specialties you have worked in and the billing systems/EHR platforms you have used.
