Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
The Chef leads and works side-by-side with the management team and staff, delivering outstanding food and customer service, and is recognized as the technical expert and trainer for cooks and kitchen personnel. The Chef has knowledge in the latest health and wellness trends, as well as the desire to learn diet trends. The Chef is also detail-oriented and is able to multitask in the workplace.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum of 1-2 years experience in a similar role as a chef
  • Knowledge of kitchen equipment operations and maintenance.
  • Some knowledge of nutrition and diet.
  • Food Handler's Certificate.
  • Must have a completed TB test, CPR/First Aid certification, and health screening.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Health care food & beverage experience.
  • Formal culinary education.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prepares and plans weekly menu.
  • Manages the daily production of food for around 20 people (including ordering snacks, drinks, and other culinary supplies).
  • Controls food and labor costs.
  • Ensures preparation, plating and presentation standards are maintained, the appropriate quantity of food is prepared, and safety standards and regulations are followed to provide top quality food.
  • Monitors and controls the maintenance/sanitation of the kitchen and equipment to ensure a healthy, safe work environment which meets/exceeds federal, state, corporate and franchise standards and regulations. Leads the development of improvement plans for all the department services related to food production.
  • Recommends and evaluates new food products in regard to nutrition management.
  • Displays exceptional team-building skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to interact with patients, visitors, staff, and all levels of management.

Pay:
$25.00 - $30.00 per hour
