Your Role At MilliporeSigma, the Chemical Handler I will provide operational support to our Jaffrey, NH facility through dispensing and delivery of chemicals to manufacturing work centers and the safe handling of hazardous waste. The Chemical Handler will provide program support for non-hazardous waste, recycling, life safety systems and sustainability initiatives. M-F 7am-3pm.
Duties include:
Support the organization's Chemical Program, Hazardous Waste Program, Non-hazardous Waste Program, Recycling Program, and Inspection of Life Safety Systems. Execute procedures in accordance with SOPs to ensure compliance with regulations. Understand and work within a variety of guidelines, standard operating procedures and/or technical methods. Work in a safe manner to protect themselves, fellow employees, and the surrounding community. Physical Attributes Lift up to 50 pounds. Push or pull up to 500 pounds using mechanical assist equipment (i.e. drum carts, hand jack, etc.) Pass DOT exam, physical exam and vision exam. Hold or can pass and maintain a Hazardous Waste Coordinator Course/Certification. Walk, stand, bend, twist, and or lift/reach overhead throughout shift. Who You Are Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Environmental Engineering), Safety (Occupational Health & Safety or Industrial Safety), Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry. A background in chemical handling, waste management, safety or environmental. Basic computer skills (email, word, excel, PowerPoint) Manage time to perform required tasks within a specified timeframe. Working within a small team and understanding the team organization, individual roles, and responsibilities and how working as a team allows everyone to achieve objectives.
Pay Range for this position:
$21- $33 per hour The offer range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base pay compensation for this position. The actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level of experience, education, skills, and other job-related factors. Position may be eligible for sales or performance-based bonuses. Benefits offered by the Company include health insurance, paid time off (PTO), retirement contributions, and other perquisites.
