Chemical Hauler/Operator

Chemical Hauler/Operator Position Summary The Chemical Hauler/Operator is responsible for the safe, compliant, and timely transportation and distribution of chemical products to and from designated facilities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Safely transport hazardous and non-hazardous chemical materials in accordance with DOT and Hazmat regulations
Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, trailers, tanks, and safety equipment
Load, unload, and secure chemical materials following proper procedures and safety protocols
Maintain accurate logs, shipping papers, manifests, and electronic driver logs (ELDs)
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local transportation regulations
Respond appropriately to spills, leaks, or emergency situations and follow established response procedures
Communicate with dispatch, supervisors, and customers regarding routes, schedules, and delivery status
Maintain cleanliness and proper maintenance of assigned vehicles and equipment
Participate in required safety training, Hazmat refreshers, and compliance programs
Represent the company professionally while interacting with customers and the public
Strict adherence to company safety protocols and PPE requirements
Perform any and all other appropriate functions as required. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
Current Hazardous Materials (Hazmat) endorsement
Clean driving record in accordance with company and insurance standards
Ability to pass DOT physical, drug and alcohol screening, and background check
Knowledge of DOT, Hazmat, and safety regulations related to chemical transportation
Ability to read and understand safety data sheets (SDS) and shipping documentation
Ability to successfully complete a respirator medical evaluation and wear respiratory protective equipment as required. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience hauling chemicals or hazardous materials
Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
Knowledge of emergency response procedures for chemical incidents Physical Requirements Requires the ability to exert in excess of 100 lbs. of force occasionally and/or in excess of 50lbs of force frequently and/or in excess of 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
Ability to climb, bend, stoop, and work around vehicles and equipment
Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
Ability to work in varying weather and environmental conditions Work Environment Job requires exposure to outside environmental conditions
Exposure to chemicals, fumes, odors, dusts, and gases.
As conditions require, ability to wear respiratory protective equipment including a Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) for extended periods.
