Job Description

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
1. Must have, at a minimum, ten (10) years plant level supervisory experience. 2. Must have, at a minimum, five (5) years' experience in the field of explosives/pyrotechnics. 3. Four (4) year degree in engineering or manufacturing technology an asset. 4. Demonstrated experience in the supervision of staff associates. 5. Working knowledge of safety and environmental regulations. 6. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word. 7. Be able to read, speak, and understand English. 8. Must be able to work and communicate well at all levels, internal and external to the organization. 9. Must be courteous, tactful, and objective while working to ensure that production, quality, safety and service objectives are maintained throughout the organization. 10. Must have the ability to make judgments based on factual data and manage multiple projects and tasks. 11. Must have a knowledge of all products and their operating characteristics, plant layout, production capacity of each department, plant procedures and practices and quality standards 12. Background knowledge of Military Standards helpful.
JOB DUTIES
1. Collaborate in such things as the improvement of production methods and equipment and the improvement of standards of quality. 2. Advise management of areas of possible improvement in regard to innovation, technology and environment. 3. Submit weekly status reports of on-going projects to Management. 4. Act as Lead Research & Development / Chemist on open projects and genesis programs. 5. Act as lead on all new EX number applications through existing APA 87-1 or for those applications outside of
APA 87-1. 6.
Advise management regarding safety planning at the facility. 7. Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal laws and regulations. 8. Participate with Virginia PbG and Management during weekly staff meetings via electronic communication as applicable 9. Perform other duties as assigned by the Facility Manager or Company President.
