Pathfinder is seeking a strategic, mission-driven Chief Financial & Operating Officer to provide executive leadership across finance and enterprise operations. This role helps strengthen Pathfinder's long-term sustainability by guiding financial strategy, supporting operational excellence, and ensuring strong systems of accountability, compliance, and organizational support. Pathfinder, You Will:
Financial Leadership & Strategy Lead Pathfinder's financial strategy, including accounting, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and internal controls. Support the organization's long-term financial health, sustainability, and liquidity. Provide timely financial reporting, analysis, and guidance to the President/CEO and Board. Oversee audits, financial governance, regulatory compliance, and risk management systems. Provide executive supervision and support to the Controller. Enterprise Operations & Administrative Leadership Provide leadership across non-programmatic support functions. Help ensure administrative operations are efficient, consistent, and aligned with organizational priorities. Establish clear expectations, accountability systems, decision-making processes, and escalation pathways. Strengthen organizational infrastructure to support Pathfinder's mission and growth. Human Resources, Compliance & Risk Management Provide executive oversight of Human Resources, including workforce planning, recruitment strategy, performance management, and leadership development alignment. Oversee employee relations processes, investigations, corrective action pathways, and benefits administration. Guide Corporate Compliance functions, including audits, investigations, corrective action planning, and risk monitoring. Ensure policies, processes, and practices are consistent, fair, compliant, and aligned with organizational needs. Technology, Facilities & Insurance Provide executive oversight of Information Technology and enterprise systems. Ensure technology investments support operational efficiency and organizational priorities. Oversee facilities, property management, fleet, safety functions, capital planning, and vendor relationships. Lead oversight of Pathfinder's commercial insurance program, including renewals, claims coordination, and risk mitigation. Executive Leadership Serve as a trusted advisor to the President/CEO and an active member of the executive leadership team. This Role:
Professional office-based work environment with regular use of standard office equipment. Fast-paced setting with competing priorities, deadlines, and interruptions. Full-time, salaried, exempt position. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required. Travel is primarily local during business hours, with occasional out-of-area travel possible.   • Empowerment Requirements Preferred Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field required; MBA or CPA strongly preferred.
Five to 10 years of progressively responsible experience in finance, operations, or executive leadership roles with at least 5 years of senior leadership experience managing teams, functions, or multiple departments. Minimum of 5 years of experience and demonstrated expertise in financial and accounting, including understanding of profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow management. Demonstrated experience leading and integrating multiple administrative or operational functions (e.g., finance, HR, compliance, IT, or similar) Experience in nonprofit, human services, healthcare, or regulated environments with federally required single audits strongly preferred. Ability to understand complex issues quickly and make sound decisions. Ability to build trust and confidence with the CEO, Board, and leadership team.
