Job Description

Two Rivers Child Advocacy Center provides child victims of abuse and other violent crimes a safe and child friendly atmosphere to talk about what happened so they can begin to heal. The Child Advocacy Coordinator is one of the first people our clients and their caregivers meet when arriving at our center. The Child Advocacy Coordinator completes the client intake process and begins to provide ongoing support to children and their caregivers. As an advocate, the Child Advocacy Coordinator will act in the child's best interest throughout the investigative process. This includes providing and facilitating community support services to Two Rivers Child Advocacy Center's clients and their families. The Child Advocacy Coordinator facilitates the day-to-day information sharing and activities of the MDT by serving as the MDT Coordinator, and is also responsible for following up on referrals with MDT members. The Child Advocacy Coordinator is available to conduct forensic interviews as needed. The Child Advocacy Coordinator must be able to work with professionals from diverse backgrounds and across disciplines. The Child Advocacy Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all services to victims and families as needed and maintaining regular contact with clients. The CA Coordinator must document the provision of services, maintain client records and compile appropriate statistical data. A Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, or related field is required. Candidates must possess excellent written and verbal communication, organizational and computer skills, and the ability to work independently and as a team member. The ideal candidate will have working knowledge of family systems, the dynamics of child abuse, particularly child sexual abuse, and knowledge of the developmental stages of children and adolescents, and the effects of trauma on child development.
