Jul 1, 2026 Job Description The CPSD's Child Nutrition Coordinator plays a vital role in promoting the health and well-being of students by ensuring they have access to nutritious meals during the school day. This role requires professionalism, strong organizational & communication skills, and a deep understanding of the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) & School Breakfast Program (SBP) regulations.QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma, associate degree or equivalent Five or more years child nutrition and office experience Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.REPORTS TO

To effectively coordinate tasks required to keep the Child Nutrition department operating smoothly.TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Twelve-month year/Salary based on experience. The following duties and responsibilities of the Child Nutrition Coordinator are listed below:Nutrition Compliance:
Responsible for providing field support for the daily operations of school cafeterias. Ensure that school meals comply with federal and state nutritional standards, such as the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and the School Breakfast Program (SBP). Stay up to date with changing regulations and make necessary adjustments to school meal offerings to maintain compliance. Ensure students receive nutritious and well-balanced meals that support their academic success, growth & development.Food Procurement and Inventory Management:
Coordinate the purchasing of food items, supplies, and equipment needed for school meal programs. Manage inventory to minimize waste and ensure that fresh and safe ingredients are used in meal preparation.Meal Service and Quality Assurance:
Oversee the preparation, distribution, and service of meals within the district, which may include school cafeterias and satellite feeding sites. Implement quality control measures to ensure that meals meet nutritional standards and are safe to consume. Develop contingency plans for situations that may disrupt meal service, such as natural disasters or emergencies.Staff Training:
Assistance to the child nutrition cafeteria staff to ensure the day-to-day operations of the cafeteria are being successfully met. Train kitchen staff, including cooks, line servers, cashiers, and support personnel. Conduct training sessions on food safety, sanitation, and proper meal preparation techniques.Data Collection and Reporting:
Monitor the accuracy and completion of production records (Red Book). Prepare reports and documentation as needed for federal and state agencies reports. Process meal applications. Ensure all invoices are accurate, signed and returned to central office.Food Safety and Sanitation:
Ensure that food preparation areas and equipment meet health and safety standards. Develop and implement food safety protocols and guidelines.Community Outreach and Promotion:
Promote the importance of nutrition and school meal programs to parents, students, and the community. Organize events and activities as needed to increase awareness of healthy eating habits and nutrition education. Assist with implementation and marketing of National School Lunch Week and National School Breakfast week.Program Evaluation:
Evaluate the effectiveness of the school nutrition program, considering factors like meal quality, production of meals, and students' acceptability of meals. Use data and feedback to make improvements to the program. Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by the Director of Child Nutrition. Regular in person attendance.Position Type:
