401(k) Dental insurance Employee discounts Health insurance Paid time off Cedar Gables Preschool — Danbury, CT Full-Time Cedar Gables Preschool is seeking a warm, proactive, and service-minded Childcare Center Director to lead our small, relationship-driven school community. We are not a large corporate center. Cedar Gables has a home-like feel, long-standing teachers, supportive families, and a culture built on teamwork, professionalism, and genuine care for children. We are looking for a leader who can support staff, build strong family relationships, maintain high standards, and help guide the continued growth of our school, including future NAEYC accreditation. The right candidate is organized, flexible, approachable, and willing to jump in wherever needed. This role is ideal for an experienced Assistant Director ready to step into a larger leadership role or an experienced Director looking for a school culture where relationships and teamwork truly matter. Responsibilities Oversee daily school operations Support and coach teaching staff Build strong relationships with families Manage staffing and scheduling Maintain licensing compliance and school standards Support enrollment and family tours Help foster a calm, organized, and positive school culture Assist in guiding the school through future NAEYC accreditation Qualifications Experience as an Assistant Director or Director in an early childhood setting Strong leadership and communication skills Professional, reliable, and highly organized Warm, team-oriented, and adaptable Ability to take initiative and problem-solve independently Tech/computer skills are a plus Passion for early childhood education and supporting teachers Benefits Competitive compensation based on experience Paid holidays and PTO Childcare discount Professional development opportunities Supportive team environment This Role Is NOT for You If… You struggle to take initiative You are uncomfortable adapting to changing needs You avoid accountability or difficult conversations You are looking for a hands-off management role If you value teamwork, professionalism, strong relationships, and creating an exceptional experience for children and families, we would love to hear from you.
