Childcare Program Director Big Bend, WI 53103 $44,000

  • Full-time The Childcare Program Director supports the overall function of our childcare center by overseeing and supporting children, families, staff, licensing compliance, and operational support.
This role focuses on ensuring daily operations align with state licensing regulations, internal policies, and best practices in early childhood education. This person works closely with the Administrator to maintain a compliant, well-run, and professionally accountable environment for staff and children. Salary is dependent on experience and education. Work schedule would be Monday-Friday, 9:30-5:30pm. Please note, we are a standalone, non-profit childcare, and we are unable to offer health insurance, dental insurance, or a 401k plan. We do offer paid time off.
Key Responsibilities:
Coach and support teaching staff to ensure professional performance and compliance with center policies Conduct classroom observations and provide feedback focused on licensing and quality standards Support onboarding, training, and ongoing professional development of staff Prepare for and participate in licensing visits and inspections Monitor classroom ratios, schedules, and staffing coverage Communicate with families during drop off and pick up times, as well as regular communication about their children Step into classrooms as needed to support teachers with children, as well as coverage for ratios as needed Answer phones, take messages, make note of schedule changes, and other office tasks Assist with basic billing and schedule changes Assist with planning for events for staff and/or families Participate in one staff meeting a month (every first Thursday) Other tasks can be acquired over time once familiar with our childcare
Required Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in a childcare setting Strong knowledge of state childcare licensing regulations Qualified Lead Teacher Highly organized and strong attention to detail Proficient with Microsoft systems, confident using basic computer systems Professional, calm, and confident communication style Excitement for children and working with them Passion for childcare
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in leadership
Minimum Education:
